VERIFICATION FINDING (per explicit request): Granite Asia is confirmed, via two independent current sources (Wikipedia's Granite Asia and GGV Capital articles, cross-checked against each other, plus the firm's own live official site) to be the genuine, currently-operating Asia-focused successor to GGV Capital's business. In September 2023, GGV Capital announced it would split its U.S. and Asia operations following a U.S. House Select Committee investigation into American venture capital's exposure to Chinese technology investments. The split completed on March 29, 2024, dividing GGV into two fully independent firms: Granite Asia (continuing the Asia-focused business — China, Southeast Asia, and South Asia — headquartered in Singapore) and Notable Capital (the separate, independent U.S.-focused successor). Granite Asia is genuinely active today, not a dormant rebrand — its official site (graniteasia.com) shows real, current 2025-2026 activity, including a $350+ million first close of a pan-Asia private credit fund (backed by Temasek, Khazanah, and the Indonesia Investment Authority, closed December 2025) and a $110 million AI-focused IPO fund launched with DBS in February 2026. LinkedIn lists the firm's founding year as 2000, reflecting continuity with GGV Capital's original founding date rather than a fresh 2024 start.
Granite Asia is led by Jenny Lee and Jixun Foo (both longtime GGV Capital partners) and reports AUM figures of $8.5 billion (per Wikipedia, 2025) to $10 billion (per its own site) in assets and co-managed capital, spanning venture capital, growth equity, and a newer private-credit business run partly through its Libra Hybrid Capital strategy. The firm also manages independent yuan-denominated funds in China through its subsidiary Jiyuan Capital. Its investment themes span consumer growth, enterprise workflow and supply chain, food systems and sustainability, health innovation, and energy transition/automation. Confirmed current and legacy portfolio companies include Manycore (an AI company Granite Asia/GGV has backed since 2014, through to IPO), Aureka (an AI-native biotech company that raised a $100 million Series B with Granite Asia's backing), Galatek (AI-enabled semiconductor automation), and Notta (AI transcription, backed via a Granite-Integral joint venture). One notable legacy investment, Chinese AI firm Megvii, was flagged by GGV/Granite Asia as an exit target following US sanctions.

Rebright Partners is an early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2008 by Takeshi Ebihara, a 30-year venture capital veteran and serial entrepreneur who previously founded internet companies including one that reached a public listing. The firm is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with additional offices in Bengaluru, India and Singapore, and describes itself as "the gateway between Japan, ASEAN and India" — backed by prominent Japanese corporate and institutional investors and leveraging that network to help portfolio startups expand regionally and forge partnerships with major Japanese technology companies. Its investment team includes Partner Brij Bhasin (co-founder of GSF Accelerator, an early advisor at Little Eye Labs, which was acquired by Facebook in 2014) and Principal Mahesh Kumar (formerly of Sony Innovation Fund).
The firm has built a portfolio of more than 35 companies across India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, spanning healthcare (MediBuddy, Virohan, Nivaan, Instalimb), e-commerce (Bukalapak, Qraved, Elanic), edtech (Codingal, Stimuler), logistics and mobility (LetsTransport, ClickPost, Numocity — later acquired by ABB e-Mobility), agritech (Aquaconnect, Eggoz), and fintech/insurtech. Its one confirmed Philippine investment is Coins.ph, the cryptocurrency and blockchain-based financial services platform.

Northstar Group is a Singapore-headquartered investment firm founded in 2003, partly owned by U.S. private equity firm TPG Capital, dedicated to growth-stage investments in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian markets across technology, retail, and financial services. Unlike most entries in this directory, Northstar is a growth-stage private equity firm rather than an early-stage venture capital fund — categorized here as vc-fund only because this platform's taxonomy has no dedicated private-equity category, the same treatment already used for the existing Navegar entry. Northstar's early-stage venture arm, NSI Ventures, later spun off and rebranded as the independent firm Openspace Ventures — already a separate entry in this directory — and Northstar's own remaining fund today operates strictly at growth/PE stage, a genuinely separate entity that should not be conflated with Openspace.
Northstar's private equity fund was a follow-on investor in Gojek (the Indonesian ride-hailing and super-app company, alongside NSI Ventures/Openspace's earlier 2014 seed round) as part of Gojek's $550 million August 2016 round, and also holds a stake in Indomaret, one of Indonesia's largest retail convenience-store chains. In a more recent fundraise, the firm secured an initial $800 million tranche for continued growth-stage investing in the region.
