Philippines' financial products marketplace for loans, cards and insurance

Fintech Growth 📍 Makati Est. 2014 👥 51-100 employees

About eCompareMo

eCompareMo was founded in 2014 by John Patrick Ellis and Stephanie Chung (who became CEO) as an online comparison marketplace where Filipinos could research and apply for credit cards, personal and business loans, insurance, and time-deposit products from one site, instead of visiting each bank or insurer separately. It launched into a market where financial-product information for consumers was scattered across dozens of individual institutions’ own sites and branch literature.

The company operates as the Philippine arm of Singapore-headquartered C88 Financial Technologies (also parent to Indonesia’s CekAja.com), a regional financial-comparison group that has itself raised more than $45 million from investors including Experian Ventures and Telstra Ventures. eCompareMo built out partnerships with more than 90 Philippine banks, insurers, and financial institutions, and added an AI chat assistant (“Alex”) to help users navigate product choices.

eCompareMo remains active more than a decade after launch, with a reported headcount around 68 as of early 2026 — a genuinely mature, still-operating Philippine fintech rather than a startup casualty, even though it has always operated within a larger regional group structure rather than as a fully independent company.

The Problem They're Solving

Comparing loan, credit card, and insurance offers across Philippine banks and insurers required visiting each institution separately, with no single place to compare rates, fees, and eligibility side by side — leaving many Filipino consumers to default to whichever bank or agent they already knew rather than the best-fit product.

Who They Serve

Individual Filipino consumers shopping for credit cards, personal or business loans, insurance policies, or time-deposit products, matched against more than 90 partner banks and financial institutions.

What Makes Them Different

eCompareMo built one of the Philippines' first dedicated financial-comparison marketplaces at a time when this category barely existed locally, and backed it with a regional partner (C88 Financial Technologies) that had already proven the comparison-marketplace model in Indonesia — giving it partnership infrastructure and capital most standalone Philippine competitors lacked.

Traction & Milestones

Partnerships with more than 90 Philippine banks, insurers, and financial institutions; approximately 68 employees as of January 2026, per public company-data sources.
