About Great Deals E-Commerce Corp.
Great Deals E-Commerce Corp. (GDEC) began in 2012 as a one-person wholesale reselling operation, selling stock to different stores around the Philippines while simultaneously listing goods on early platforms including Ensogo, Groupon, and CashCashPinoy. Founder Steve Sy formally incorporated the business in 2017, and the company opened its first office on Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.
GDEC grew into what it describes as the country’s largest e-commerce enabler for multinational and local brands, providing marketplace management, warehousing and fulfillment, digital marketing, and data/analytics services so brands can sell across platforms like Lazada and Shopee without building that infrastructure themselves. In May 2021, GDEC raised a $30 million Series B round led by logistics firm Fast Group, with participation from CVC Capital Partners and Navegar.
As of the mid-2020s, GDEC remains an active, growing company headquartered in Quezon City, positioning itself as the leading e-distributor in the Philippines for multinational brand clients.
The Problem They're Solving
Multinational and local consumer brands entering Philippine e-commerce needed marketplace management, fulfillment/logistics, digital marketing, and sales-data infrastructure that most did not have in-house, especially as marketplaces like Lazada and Shopee scaled rapidly.
Who They Serve
Multinational and local consumer brands seeking to sell and scale on Philippine e-commerce marketplaces without building their own local commerce operations.
What Makes Them Different
Grew organically from a single-proprietor wholesale reselling operation into a full-service "e-commerce enabler" covering marketplace management, fulfillment, and brand marketing, later backed by institutional logistics and private-equity investors (Fast Group, CVC Capital Partners, Navegar) rather than early-stage venture capital.
Traction & Milestones
Describes itself as the country's largest e-commerce enabler by 2019; raised a $30M Series B in May 2021 led by Fast Group with CVC Capital Partners and Navegar.
