About KorekTax

KorekTax is a Philippine TaxTech startup developing a software platform that connects existing accounting systems with Philippine tax-compliance workflows. Rather than replacing accounting software, KorekTax adds a dedicated tax layer that transforms accounting data into tax computations, BIR form outputs, and supporting reconciliation working papers.

The platform is built around a tax engine that processes accounting records through a structured data model and applies Philippine tax computation logic. Its technical foundation includes accounting-system integration, transaction-level traceability, effective-dated tax parameters, and an audit trail designed to support review and accountability.

KorekTax has demonstrated live synchronization with Xero and tax-form output generation through its existing engine. Its QuickBooks Online connector has been built and tested in a simulated environment. Live-company integration and completion of the initial commercial product remain in development.

The product roadmap has three stages: Essential, focused on calculating and preparing tax outputs; Enterprise, intended to expand automation and control; and Enterprise+, which may introduce additional digital tax capabilities subject to implementation and regulatory requirements.

KorekTax targets Philippine microbusinesses, SMEs, corporations, and accounting practitioners. Its planned business model centers on recurring software subscriptions, with accounting firms and practitioners as potential distribution partners.

Its long-term objective is to connect the accounting records businesses already maintain with the tax workflows they need to complete, making Philippine tax preparation more integrated, traceable, and efficient.

The Problem They're Solving

Businesses and accounting professionals face the constant pressure of meeting Philippine tax-compliance requirements. Preparing returns means reconciling accounting records, checking tax treatments, completing forms, and keeping supporting documents in order. Errors, missed deadlines, and incomplete records can lead to penalties, additional work, and uncertainty during BIR audits or Letters of Authority (LOA) examinations. For accountants and practitioners handling multiple clients, these responsibilities can become an ongoing source of stress.

KorekTax addresses the gap between maintaining accounting records and preparing tax-compliance outputs. By connecting existing accounting systems to Philippine tax workflows, it aims to make tax preparation more organized, traceable, and manageable—helping businesses and their accountants work with greater clarity and confidence.

The goal

Who They Serve

KorekTax serves individuals and businesses with Philippine tax-filing obligations, whether they manage their own tax preparation or rely on accountants and tax practitioners. Its potential customers include freelancers, self-employed professionals, sole proprietors, microbusinesses, SMEs, and corporations.

The platform also serves accounting practitioners and firms that prepare tax returns for multiple clients. By connecting accounting records

What Makes Them Different

KorekTax adds a Philippine tax layer to existing accounting systems, beginning with Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO), with planned future integrations for Odoo and other platforms.

Its source-neutral data model is designed to normalize accounting records before applying Philippine tax rules, enabling tax computation, BIR form preparation, reconciliation, and transaction-level traceability across supported integrations.

Rather than requiring businesses to adopt a particular accounting environment, KorekTax keeps tax processing separate from the underlying ledger. It serves individual taxpayers, freelancers, businesses, and accounting practitioners managing multiple clients.

The existing engine has demonstrated live Xero synchronization and tax-form output generation. The QBO connector has been tested in a simulated environment; live-company integration and completion of the initial commercial product remain in development.

Traction & Milestones

KorekTax has progressed from concept to a working tax engine, with live Xero synchronization and tax-form output generation demonstrated. A QuickBooks Online connector has been built and tested in a simulated environment. The technical architecture, product requirements, and staged development roadmap have been established. Development is now focused on completing the initial market-ready product, including tax workflows, supporting schedules, reconciliation, and review capabilities.
