About Locad
Locad builds the warehousing and fulfillment infrastructure that lets online brands ship orders quickly across Southeast Asia, Australia, and increasingly the Middle East, without each brand having to build its own regional logistics network from scratch. It was founded in October 2020 by a team that split its earliest operations between Manila and Singapore, drawing on founder Constantin Robertz’s prior experience running Zalora’s Southeast Asian fashion logistics and later leading Entrego, a Philippine last-mile delivery firm. That dual heritage is part of why Locad’s build-out leaned so heavily on the Philippines from day one, even though the company is now headquartered in Singapore.
The platform gives e-commerce sellers a single dashboard to manage inventory, pick-and-pack, and last-mile delivery across a distributed network of fulfillment centers, rather than negotiating separately with warehouses and couriers in every market they sell into. In the Philippines specifically, Locad operates six fulfillment centers spanning the National Capital Region, southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, which is a meaningfully wider physical footprint than most single-country fulfillment providers maintain.
Locad raised a US$4.9 million seed round in 2021 led by Sequoia Capital India’s Surge, then a US$11 million Series A in January 2023 led by Reefknot Investments (a logistics-focused fund backed by Temasek) and global freight-forwarding group Kuehne+Nagel, and a further US$9 million round to fund expansion into the Middle East. Combined, these rounds put its disclosed funding at well over US$20 million.
The Problem They're Solving
Selling online across several Southeast Asian markets traditionally means a brand has to find, vet, and manage its own warehousing and courier relationships separately in each country, which is slow to set up and hard to scale once order volumes rise or a brand wants to expand into a new market.
Who They Serve
E-commerce brands and retailers, ranging from regional fashion and beauty labels to larger consumer goods companies, that want to store inventory and fulfill orders across multiple Asia-Pacific markets without operating their own warehouses in each one.
What Makes Them Different
Locad's core pitch is a single technology layer sitting on top of a real, physical network of owned and partner warehouses spanning the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and India (and now the Middle East), so a brand can plug into one API or dashboard instead of stitching together separate fulfillment vendors market by market.
Traction & Milestones
As of its 2023 Series A announcement, Locad reported roughly 200 brand clients using its platform and had grown its fulfillment footprint to six centers in the Philippines alone, on top of its wider APAC network. Its later funding round specifically financed a push into Middle East fulfillment, indicating the company was scaling beyond its original Southeast Asian and Australian markets as of 2024.
