Taxumo

Taxumo is an online tax compliance and business-filing platform built for Philippine freelancers, sole proprietors, and small and medium enterprises. Launched December 1, 2016, it automates tax computation, e-filing, and payment so business owners don’t have to manually track BIR deadlines and forms. The company was co-founded by EJ Arboleda (Chairman, a former CTO at Wunderman Manila with roughly a decade in ERP systems) and his wife Ginger Arboleda (CEO, a fintech entrepreneur and founder of Manila Workshops), after Ginger’s own business repeatedly missed tax deadlines and racked up penalties. Kevin Baldonado, a tax lawyer, and Evan Tan, a marketing lead, round out the named founding team.

Taxumo is headquartered at Fort Legend Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and a third-party company-data aggregator (Tracxn) reports it employs roughly 28 people. It has raised a disclosed total of about $214,000 across two seed rounds (July 2016 and December 2019).

The company reports serving more than 100,000 users, was the first Philippine startup included in the Board of Investments’ Investment Priority Plan, and won three ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards in 2018 (Best FinTech Startup, Best Business Automation Tool, and Best Newcomer). It has also gone through the ISIP Social Impact Accelerator and QBO Innovation Hub programs.
