About Betterteem
Betterteem was founded in 2021 by Bo Discarga and Rey Leonard Dumasig to build an AI-driven employee-retention and business-intelligence platform that predicts resignation risk, initially targeting the Philippines’ large BPO industry, where high attrition is a persistent and expensive operational problem.
The platform analyzes workforce data to flag employees at elevated risk of resigning before they actually leave, giving HR and operations teams a chance to intervene — a genuinely data-driven alternative to relying on manager instinct or exit-interview feedback that arrives too late to act on.
Betterteem has been backed by Techstars, Crestone Venture Capital, and Malaysia’s 1337 Ventures, with roughly $140,000 in disclosed funding from the 1337 Ventures round. The company was named a Philippine regional winner of the Startup World Cup and now serves clients across Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and the Philippines.
The Problem They're Solving
The Philippine BPO industry has long struggled with high, costly employee attrition, and most companies only learn an employee is planning to leave once a resignation letter is already submitted — too late to meaningfully intervene.
Who They Serve
BPO companies and other high-attrition employers across the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea seeking to predict and reduce employee resignation risk.
What Makes Them Different
Betterteem applies predictive AI specifically to attrition risk rather than general HR analytics, giving employers an earlier intervention window than traditional engagement surveys or exit interviews, and has expanded regionally into Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea faster than most Philippine-founded HR tech startups.
Traction & Milestones
Backed by Techstars, Crestone Venture Capital, and 1337 Ventures (~$140,000 disclosed); Philippine regional winner, Startup World Cup; clients across Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and the Philippines.
