About Learning Hall PH
Learning Hall PH turns DepEd’s MATATAG curriculum for Grades 2 to 6 into an RPG-style game world, where every quiz, quest, and battle is aligned to what a child is actually learning in school that week. Parents create the account and set up their child’s grade level; children then log in with a simple PIN to play through weekly lessons disguised as adventures, earning gold, curios, and guild progress instead of red marks on a worksheet. The app is completely free, has no ads, and has no stranger contact of any kind – there is no open chat, no public matchmaking with strangers, and no way for a child to be contacted by anyone outside their own family. Learning Hall PH was built by a parent-founder, Rowil Ruelo, for his own children after years of watching standard homework apps fail to hold a child’s attention, and has since grown into a real product used by families across the Philippines, including students at a DepEd Special Science Elementary School in Surigao City as part of an ongoing pilot partnership. The platform now has real, tracked traction with hundreds of live student and parent accounts, and the company is actively raising its first round of outside capital to fund content production, infrastructure scaling, and its first paid marketing push into Filipino parent communities.
The Problem They're Solving
Filipino parents want their kids doing DepEd-aligned schoolwork at home, but most homework and tutoring apps are either boring worksheets in disguise, built for a foreign curriculum that doesn't match what's taught in Philippine classrooms, or come with ads, in-app strangers, and other risks parents don't want their kids exposed to. Learning Hall PH solves this by mapping every week's content directly to the child's actual DepEd MATATAG curriculum and wrapping it in real game mechanics - battles, collectible curios, guilds, and a persistent RPG world - so kids choose to keep playing instead of needing to be told to finish their homework, while parents get an app that's safe by design, with no ads and no stranger contact.
Who They Serve
Filipino parents of Grade 2 to 6 students who want their kids doing real DepEd-aligned schoolwork at home but are tired of fighting them to open a workbook - especially parents already comfortable letting their kids play mobile or console games, and parents specifically looking for a homework tool that's genuinely safe, with no ads and no way for strangers to contact their child.
What Makes Them Different
Unlike generic global ed-apps, every week of content in Learning Hall PH is built directly from the current DepEd MATATAG curriculum guide for the child's specific grade, not a generic international syllabus. It's also a real game, not a gamified worksheet - quests, turn-based battles, a persistent world map, and a collectible curio system give kids the same pull as the games they already choose to play, instead of a thin XP bar wrapped around multiple-choice questions. And it's built safety-first for children specifically: free to use, no ads, and no stranger contact of any kind, since accounts are parent-created and children authenticate with a simple PIN rather than an open profile or chat system.
