About mWell
mWell is a digital health and wellness app launched in August 2021 by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation (MPHTC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, marketed as the Philippines’ first fully integrated health-and-wellness platform. Rather than a single-purpose telehealth app, mWell bundles doctor consultations, an e-pharmacy, emergency services coordination, home care booking, and fitness and nutrition programs into one consumer app, positioning itself as a single entry point into a much broader personal-health routine rather than only an on-demand doctor line.
As a corporate-launched platform capitalized by its parent Metro Pacific Investments Corporation rather than an independently founder-started, externally VC-funded startup, mWell does not have a disclosed external funding history in the conventional startup sense; this entry states that plainly rather than assigning it a funding figure that would misrepresent how the company was actually financed. Its go-to-market has leaned heavily on Metro Pacific’s existing telecom and business relationships, including a partnership with PLDT Home that gave PLDT Home-connected households free online consultations covering primary care, pediatrics, internal medicine, OB-GYN, cardiology, gastroenterology, and dermatology, along with COVID-19-related guidance during the pandemic period.
In February 2025, mWell significantly expanded its scale by acquiring 100% of KonsultaMD, the Ayala-linked telehealth platform originally incubated by Globe Telecom’s 917Ventures (see KonsultaMD’s own entry in this directory), a deal both companies described as building the Philippines’ largest integrated digital healthcare ecosystem. At the time of the acquisition, mWell itself reported roughly 3.1 million users.
The Problem They're Solving
Filipino consumers seeking digital health services have historically had to juggle several separate apps and providers for doctor consultations, medicine delivery, diagnostics, and wellness support, rather than one connected experience.
Who They Serve
Filipino consumers seeking an integrated digital front door to healthcare — doctor consultations, medicine delivery, home care, and wellness programs — in one app.
What Makes Them Different
mWell's breadth (consultations, e-pharmacy, emergency coordination, home care, and wellness programs all in one app) and its parent company's existing telecom/business distribution, including a direct PLDT Home partnership, gave it a faster path to meaningful consumer scale than a narrowly-scoped telehealth-only competitor would typically have.
Traction & Milestones
Roughly 3.1 million users at the time of its February 2025 acquisition of KonsultaMD, plus a PLDT Home partnership offering free consultations across multiple medical specialties to PLDT Home-connected households.
