About Zennya
Zennya was founded in 2016 by David Foote, inspired by the rise of sharing-economy platforms like Uber, to tackle a very physical healthcare-access problem in the Philippines: getting basic medical and wellness care without the wait times and travel involved in visiting a clinic or hospital in person.
The platform dispatches professional nurses and other healthcare workers directly to a patient’s home, bringing equipment to perform general health checks, run lab tests, administer vaccinations, and conduct services like COVID-19 swab tests, alongside virtual doctor consultations and wellness services such as massage therapy.
Zennya raised $1.2 million in May 2021, led by Foxmont Capital Partners alongside DayOne Capital Ventures and Ignite House of Innovation, to scale its mobile healthcare and last-mile medical logistics operations, which run in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.
The Problem They're Solving
Getting even basic healthcare services — a checkup, a lab test, a vaccination — in the Philippines often means long queues and travel time to a clinic or hospital, which is especially hard for people with mobility issues, busy schedules, or in areas with fewer nearby facilities.
Who They Serve
Individual consumers and families in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu who want a nurse, health check, lab test, vaccination, or wellness service delivered to their home rather than visiting a facility.
What Makes Them Different
Zennya applies an Uber-style on-demand dispatch model specifically to licensed healthcare workers making home visits, combining actual medical service delivery with last-mile logistics, rather than being a video-call-only telehealth app.
