Hive Health

Hive Health was co-founded by Camille Ang and Jiawen Tang, both Harvard/Stanford alumni, to build a digital HMO and health-insurance platform aimed at Philippine small and medium enterprises — a segment that has historically had less negotiating power and fewer choices than large corporate accounts when buying group health coverage.

The platform lets SMEs set up and manage employee health benefits digitally, connecting members to a network Hive Health reports at more than 1,700 hospitals and clinics and over 60,000 doctors nationwide, aiming to make enrollment, claims, and access to care faster than the paperwork-heavy process typical of traditional HMO providers.

In 2024, Hive Health raised a $6.5 million pre-Series A round, with Amasia among the participating investors — one of only a small number of disclosed Philippine investments for Amasia, a fund whose broader Philippine exposure has otherwise been limited.

Note on domicile: several funding-round reports (e.g. TNGlobal, KrASIA) describe Hive Health as a Singapore-based/incorporated company even though its entire stated business is serving Philippine SMEs — a common structure for Southeast Asian startups (Singapore holding entity, Philippine operations). Both facts are stated here honestly rather than picking one.
